Abstract: The antimony tris carboxylate of the type, SbL3 was prepared by the reaction of antimony trichloride with sodium salt of furoic acid in 1:3 stoichiometry, whereas, antimony trichloride adduct, (SbCl3(LH)) (LH = furoic acid) was prepared by the reaction of antimony trichloride with furoic acid in 1:1 ratio. The complexes obtained were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and multinuclear (1H, 13C{1H}) NMR spectroscopic techniques. Based on spectroscopic data a ligand coordination through oxygen atoms of the carboxylate group has been suggested.
