Abstract: Forty mung bean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) genotypes were evaluated for the estimation of genetic variability parameters, correlation coefficient, path analysis, heritability and genetic advance. The genotypes differed significantly for all the characters. Higher GCV and PCV was observed for the number of primary branches per plant and number of pods per plant. High heritability coupled with genetic advance as percent of mean showed by number of primary branches per plant indicating the impact of additive gene expression. The characters days to 50 % flowering, number of pods per cluster, number of seeds per pod and harvest index showed positive and significant correlation along with positive direct effect on grain yield. Therefore, selection based on this component traits would results improvement in grain yield of mung bean.
