Effect of pruning regimes and fertilizer levels on quality and economics of guava (Psidium guajava L.)

Author(s): Shinde SB, Jagtap VS, Kate PA and Shriram JM

Abstract: The experiment framed was intended to find out the optimum level of pruning and economic dose of fertilizer for higher yield and quality production of guava fruits. The results of the present investigation indicated that, different pruning treatments and fertilizer levels produced significant effect on fruit quality of guava. Physical and chemical quality attributes were recorded better in 45 cm pruning level with application of 125% RDF (1000:500:500 g NPK/tree) treatment. The maximum net monetary returns (Rs. 4,97,933/ha.) with highest (2.95) B: C was also obtained with the application of the said treatment.
