Abstract: A field experiment entitled “Effects of different mulches on yield and water use efficiency of pomegranate cv. Bhagwa” was conducted. Under this experiment plants were treated with different mulches. Plants treated with black polythene (100 µ) recorded the maximum fruit yield (18.97 kg/plant and 15.81 t/ha), irrigation water use efficiency (10.68 kg/m3) and water productivity (119.00 l/kg). Silmilary, the same treatment has saved the maximum amount of water (28.71 %). These values were found to be lowest in control treatment (without) indicating the beneficial effect of black polythene.
