Abstract: The present investigation on canopy management of cocoa was carried out to study the influence of different pruning levels and growth retardant applications on growth, flowering and yield of cocoa. Three different levels of pruning viz., light pruning, medium pruning and hard pruning and two growth retardant viz., paclobutrazol and cycocel at different concentration was taken for the study and compared with farmer practice (control). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with eight treatments and three replications. Treatments were imposed on January of 2017 and various observations on growth, flower and yield attributing characters were recorded throughout the study period. The results of the experiment revealed that hard pruning recorded highest in canopy spread and light transmission ratio (%) at different stages. Medium pruning registered highest in number of flower cushions per tree (378.02), number of pods per tree (34), dry bean weight per pod (55.42 g), weight of the pod (540.58 g).
