Abstract: Development of an appropriate forewarning system considerably helps to identify the point of time when growth rate of growth of the gundhi bug is at its peak to ensure most effective use of protection measures against gundhi bug infestation. Along with this, it also helps to reduce unnecessary application of insecticides as well as environmental pollution. Hence, in the current study, an attempt has been made to identify the optimum time point of insecticidal spraying. Based on different model selection criteria, cubic model is observed to be the best fit. Optimum time of spraying insecticides against gundhi bug is found to be at 2 DAT.
