Abstract: A field experiment was conducted during 2018-19 to study the “Effect of application of ammonium molybdate on nutrient status and yield of pigeon pea grown on Vertisol†at experimental farm, Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, College of Agriculture, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani. The experiment was laid out on Vertisol with five treatments replicated four times in randomized block design. The experiment was laid out on Vertisol with five treatments replicated four times in randomized block design. The treatment consists of T1- Absolute control, T2- Only RDF (25:50 kg N and P2O5 ha-1), T3- RDF + Ammonium molybdate through seed treatment @1 g kg-1 seed, T4- RDF + Ammonium molybdate through soil application @ 2 kg ha-1, T5- RDF + Ammonium molybdate through foliar application @ 0.5%.
The results found that Available macro and micronutrients at various growth stages of pigeon pea found to be decreased continuously from flowering to harvesting due to plant uptake of nutrients for their vegetative and reproductive growth. The yield parameters like seed yield and stover yield was increased due to application of RDF + ammonium molybdate through foliar application @ 0.5% followed by the treatment receiving RDF + Ammonium molybdate @ 2 kg ha-1.
