Author(s): V Pratap, T Nath, PK Bharteey, PK Maurya and R Gautam

Abstract: A study was conducted Khuthan Block of Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh of India. 70 Sample were collected from study area for evaluating physical properties bulk density, particle density and porosity, and chemical properties pH, EC, Organic carbon, soil macronutrient N, P, K and Sulphur. It can be concluded that, the soils were neutral to slight alkaline in reaction. All soils were observed low in organic carbon, available nitrogen and potassium, while available phosphorus was in medium category. Soils of slopy land were lower in fertility, compared to level agriculture land soils due to soil erosion and low nutrient retention capacity. It is suggested that farmer should follow soil test based fertilizer recommendation to get higher yield.
