Abstract: In vivo experiment was conducted to screen 20 genotypes against internode borer, Chilosacchariphagus indicus (Kapur) (Crambidae: Lepidoptera) at the Zonal Agricultural Research Station, College of Agriculture, V. C. Farm, Mandya, during the period 2016-17. The study revealed a significant positive correlation with cane length, length and girth of vulnerable portion. Biochemical analysis of the genotypes indicated lower quantity of total sugars and reducing sugar and higher quantity of phenols, cellulose, tannin were found imparting resistance to INB of sugarcane.
