Abstract: The present study was conducted with objective to assess the resistance source against Alternaria blight in Indigenous and exotic rapeseed-mustard genotypes at Oilseeds section, Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, CCS HAU, Hisar rabi during 2015-16. None of germplasm lines was found completely free from Alternaria blight. Sixty-four germplasm lines showed moderately resistant reaction (≤10% disease severity) against Alternaria leaf blight under artificial inoculation conditions. Many of these moderately resistant lines might have escaped the high infection due to their early maturity. Hence, few lines viz., EC-766106, EC-766108, EC-766110, EC-766111, EC-766121, EC-766123, EC-766124, EC-766129, EC-766136, EC-766143, EC-766144, EC-766145, EC-766147, EC-766152, EC-766156, EC-766158, EC-766161, EC-766178, EC-766195, EC-766202, EC-766204, EC-766231, EC-766313, EC-766315, EC-766404 and EC-766417 could be considered for further use in resistance programmes for at least general (horizontal) resistance.
